Indy Fun

Once again this year, my children informed me that we are the only family not going to Florida.  I tried to inform them that we may be the only family not using our credit card.  They didn't really appreciate it, and I believe I heard them mutter something about Dave Ramsey as they ran off.  Love it!  So instead of Florida, we went to Indianapolis for an overnight.  The kids got to swim for hours, I lapped up far too much Mexican at Acapulco Joe's, and we spent the day at the best Children's Museum ever.
The kids were brave enough to attempt the rock climbing this year.  Whoever had Brant as their belayer, virtually was pulled up the wall.  My teammate actually had to climb, and I just prevented their plummeting to the floor.  It was harder than it looked (a phrase I seem to use quite a bit about sports).

Joe the Father Figure

I love living in a home where this can happen.  I am always amazed to find GI Joe hijacked into playing house with all the barbies and doll family figurines.  I think it works out well for him.  I mean he has his choice of pretty well any lady he wants.

Practice

The weather has been just gorgeous lately.  Perfect for ball practice.  Many an evening, finds all the Hambys lined-up playing catch out front.

Birdy Eats Bugs

My little Avabird has struck an interest in cooking of late.  She has discovered the cookbook section at the library and loves to pore over them discussing what she's would like to cook (usually they are frosted and full of sugar).  Her latest creation was lady bugs.  They consist of vanilla wafers, frosting, choc chips, and a Raisinette for the head.  Low fuss and cute -- just like Ave.

Fifteen and Fab

Can you believe I've been married 15 years.  It really doesn't seem like it (most days).  I can't believe I'm 35 and married 15 years.  I don't even feel like an adult most days.

Fish Fee

Our lovely neighbors asked us to take care of their home while they went on a coastal vacation.  As a thank you, they brought back real starfish.  The kids were fascinated.  As cool as they are in this picture, I can't even begin to explain the smell.  The two day cartrip in a baggie really brought back the small of the ocean (or at least the ocean at lowtide. . . bleck!).
